Lumber

Hardwood Lumber is produced and sold wholesale to manufacturers of furniture, flooring, and cabinets.

As the first step in the lumber supply chain, we produce and wholesale approximately 5 million board feet of green hardwood lumber each year for furniture, flooring, and cabinetry manufacturers.

FAQS:

Do you sell any kiln dried lumber for woodworking projects?

No, all our lumber is green and sold wholesale.

Did you know?

The relationship between pianos and hardwood?

Wood makes up approximately 85% of an acoustic piano. Over the last several years, we had the opportunity to produce lumber that went into Yamaha pianos. Hard Maple logs were handpicked all over the country and brought to our mill. After we sawed the logs into lumber, the lumber was exported to Japan where it was taken to the Yamaha piano factory.

The relationship between bowling pins and hardwood?

You may not realize it, but hardwood plays a key role in the creation of bowling pins! Most bowling pins are crafted from hard maple, a dense and durable hardwood ideal for withstanding the impact of strikes and rolls. Over the years, we’ve proudly supplied the lumber used in the production of these pins.

How many steps does it take to make a log into a piece of lumber?

In our mill, we have six main steps to make a hardwood log into a piece of lumber. These steps include:

  1. Debarker
  2. Metal Detector
  3. Head Saw
  4. Resaw
  5. Edger
  6. Trim Saw

This process involves many moving parts, and it takes skilled workers and specialized equipment to keep everything running smoothly.
